The UK was hit by torrential rainfall which resulted in flooding in our area and neighboring towns. We as a project decided to open our Centre so that many of these vulnerable people can use it for shelter and also to stay warm whilst the water resides.
We were then able to support in the massive cleanup in the area which the local police, army and fire brigade were leading on. Once this cleanup project was completed we then decided to support families with food, cleaning products and any other essentials that were needed. We as a group worked on this project for over 2 months and were able to support many of our non-Muslim community.
Below are pictures of this project
During the floods we were able to hold events where we invited many volunteers and flood victims to our centre for a meal and a brief discussion on how we can help.
