News & Updates
The Muhammadi Masjid was founded in 1991 with the aim of establishing a centre based on the authentic teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah in Keighley. The building was extended to provide improved facilities for sisters including a separate sisters’ entrance, wudu area and prayer hall. As part of the works, a new kitchen and office were also added to the masjid. Friday sermons in English (previously only delivered in Urdu) were first introduced at the masjid in 2003 and now is the main language for khutbahs
Current Activities:
We have modernized our facilities especially the internal parts of the masjid with a new wudu area, new lighting, new electrics, new doors, painting, new AC system to make the masjid more presentable and more welcoming.
Jummah at Al Hikmah Centre
We moved the Jummah during the year to the school to ensure we could still deliver our jummah to the full congregation. We could adhere to social distancing rules and fit the full congregation by using the AlHikmah centre for Jummah prayers. We had to set the centre up for jummah as seen below.
Eid in the Park 2020
We decided to run the Eid in the Park event as the masjid was too small for us to fit the congregation. We had 250 people in attendance and it was a well organised and well attended event in the local park. Due to the pandemic this was very difficult to organize as we had to ensure we follow clear guidance set by the Health ministry and local council. The khutbah was delivered by Shaykh Issa on the importance of practicing our religion and giving dawah to the non-muslims
